BIOVYN™ is a bio-based vinyl from Jokasafe Oy that reduces the climate footprint of protective gloves without compromising durability, chemical protection, or performance.
Soft Touch AB now introduces BIOVYN™, an innovative material from Finnish manufacturer Jokasafe that enables the production of vinyl-based protective gloves with significantly reduced climate impact. By replacing fossil-based raw materials with bio-based alternatives, an important step is taken towards more sustainable personal protective equipment for professional users.
BIOVYN™ is a bio-based form of vinyl where part of the raw material is derived from by-products of the forestry industry. The biomass is converted into bio-ethylene, which is then used in the production of vinyl. The result is a material that can significantly reduce the carbon footprint compared to conventional PVC/vinyl production.

For the user, this means that the gloves retain the same functional properties as conventional vinyl gloves. They continue to offer high durability, chemical resistance and reliable protection in demanding working environments – while reducing the climate impact of the raw material.
"The development of new materials is key to making protective gloves more sustainable. BIOVYN™ demonstrates that high performance requirements can be combined with a clearly lower climate impact,” says Magnus Gustafsson, Purchasing Manager at Soft Touch AB.
Demand for more responsibly produced personal protection equipment is increasing across many industries. By offering gloves made with bio-based vinyl, companies can take further steps in their sustainability efforts without compromising on safety or performance.
This marks another step in Soft Touch AB’s long-term development – building a portfolio of technically advanced gloves with responsible production and a reduced climate footprint.
The gloves are available in stock directly from Soft Touch AB as well as through our network of distributors of personal protective equipment and industrial accessories.
